I bought a nail drill to aid me in filing the top coat off my nails. It has been hard on my back as I've bent over my toenails dragging my nail file back and forth across the tops of my toenails. The nail drill really helps a lot! It's also really precise.

In the video below, I show how the nail drill works and what attachment I used. I'm a not a licensed professional nail tech, so all this information is to be taken with a grain of salt and only as reference. This is NOT an instructional video.

I am greatly displeased with this chip. Filthy, dirty, sneaky, thieving chip! Robbing me of at least week more of chip-free wear! Now, it's probably my fault it's there in the first place (incorrect application?) but I am upset nonetheless. I am wondering if it is the Gelish gel itself that is prone to chipping, or the top and base coat from Sally Hansen I used? Perhaps I didn't seal the free edge of my nails as well as I thought I did? In any case, I'll just have to see what happens with the next gel manicure.
Here's the video:

I thought the consistency was a bit strange, I really didn't like it all that much with only two coats applied. I did three thin coats for my right hand, and I feel like the color turned out better that way. I also used Rake in the Green to varnish my toenails, and either the Sally Hansen LED lamp that I used isn't strong enough for it(?) or the polish's consistency has gone bad, since the gel on the edges of my nails seem to have worn off, and on the first day! This would only be my third time applying gel polish, so I don't quite know how to troubleshoot it yet.
Having a tiny tot doesn't really help me much when want to write. You know how it goes: "WAAAAAAAH!" and off you go to stick some milk-dispensing device in the little one's mouth.

This post is mostly going to be a reminder of sorts to myself as to what topics I want to research and write about... when I find the time. Also, these are things I've "gotten into."

- cloth diapering
- bare minimum clothing
- barefoot walking/running
- babywearing
- attachment parenting
- squats for beginners (#buildabooty!)
- stretching for flexibility and health

Other things, other things. I've gotten into spinning! I should really blog about all the yarn I spin.

Gotta study for a test right now. And then wash some diapers. And... God knows what else. Vocalise probably.

Seeya later!
I've been yearning for a new lipstick for quite some time now, and since I'd been eyeing Lime Crime's Velvetines, I thought "why not?"

Velvetines is a matte finish liquid lipstick; and when they say matte, boy, do they mean matte. I ordered Suedeberry, which is listed on the site as a "warm, vibrant strawberry red". It is in NO WAY a strawberry red. It is more a salmon color, which is practically neon, a characteristic aggravated by its matte finish. I don't have a problem with the color being more a neon salmon than a strawberry red, but it looks nothing like this:

which is the swatch from the Lime Crime Facebook page.

It came in a really pretty box, which I was forced to destroy to see the application tips. I could have very well googled the tips, but I was excited to see them for myself, forgetting how sad I would be once I tore the box open and ruined some perfectly beautiful packaging.

It's also rather small, and not a lot of product for what you pay for it (although there a definitely other makeup brands that charge you more for about the same amount).

I started out by applying some lipbalm, then applying two coats, letting the first coat dry before the second application. I wasn't able to achieve full opacity until the third coat, of which I have no picture.

Looks nothing like the official swatch now, does it? It is still by all means a very pretty color, but definitely NOT strawberry red. But since I've been looking for a pretty salmon/coral lipstick for a while, this was definitely still something that made me happy. Since it wasn't a slick feeling lip product, and knowing that it was matte and dry, I didn't lick or press my lips together as much throughout the day. My lips were not dried out though, as one might expect from a matte formula.

Although touted on the website as "touch-proof", it isn't exactly that.

Pardon the bleary eyes, I'd been out and about from 11am-10pm. So much tired :(

I was tempted to touch my lips to feel the finish (I just LOVE that it's matte and not slick or sticky) and to my dismay, color came off on my fingertips. I don't think it affected the look of it on my lips though, so it wasn't that bad, just slightly alarming. It is also NOT kiss-proof, unlike what some reviews I've read say. And no, I did not snog anyone violently before making this statement, I lightly kissed my husband on the cheek to discover that I left a pink, powdery lip print. Despite this, I did not have to do any touch-ups at all for nearly 12 hours, and this was even after eating big greasy slices of pizza.

As for removal, I had tested the product on my mother prior to using it on myself. She said it was difficult to remove, even with soap and water, and was scrambling all over our apartment in search of makeup remover wipes. In my case, I used my regular facial wash, and it came right off.

Would I repurchase this product? DEFINITELY. I love the color, I love the consistency, there is nothing I hate about it in the least (aside from the false advertisement as strawberry red).

xoxo,
I decided to google "best buffing block" and the results turned up a rave review by beauty addict about the EzFlow Pro Shine buffing block. I decided that it was worth a shot, and it's pretty cheap on eBay. I spent under $5 for the thing, including shipping. The results, however, are priceless.
It is such a fine grit, and I don't know how it would have performed if I hadn't used the TRIM block prior to it, but I loved the performance anyway. As for the white, buffing side... don't get me started! Buffing with this block is almost effortless...
Here are the results of the EzFlow (left nail) versus the TRIM block (right nail). As you can see, the left nail is crazy shiny, it's almost as if I used a top coat! The right nail, not so much.

Another pic of the difference, TRIM on the left, EzFlow on the right:

I love this buffing block so much that I might buy a couple more, for just-in-cases! Already, my mother's resistant fingers have snagged on the smooth white buffer surface, and I'm afraid it will happen again. It's not the block's fault though, my mother was like "meh!" and not really letting me manipulate her hand -.-

For about a couple dollars more than the BB Magic Cream, you can get almost twice as much product with more benefits! There is 35ml in the BB Magic Cream, while you can get 60ml with the Bright Fit BB. The Bright Fit BB cream has sunscreen, anti-wrinkle and lightening properties. It also comes in 4 shades: Light Beige, Natural Beige, Honey Beige and Sand Beige.

I decided to purchase Honey Beige, since I was afraid that Sand Beige would be too dark on me.

I'd learned my mistake from the last BB that I bought, and pumped the product with the nozzle on the bottom. It only took me one try to get the product out of the container, as opposed to the last time. The BB cream has a very slight scent. It is also noticeably darker than BB Magic.
I used BB Magic a a highlighter on my forehead, nose, cheekbones and chin. The Precious Mineral BB was a perfect match for my skin tone. This meant I could always add a bit more on areas I wanted to conceal without looking like a blotchy ghost. The product glided on smoothly when I applied it with my fingers, and blended well. It held up pretty well over 5 hours, and only the BB Magic cream on my nose slightly wore off. It looks kinda ashy with the flash on, but in other kinds of lighting, it looked pretty natural.

I give this product a 4/5, and I would definitely repurchase it! By the way, the retailer I got it from is cosmetic.love on eBay, and cosmetic-love.com. This seller is based in Korea, so the prices are much cheaper than what you would normally get, plus the seller always includes free samples! You can get makeup cheaper on the eBay store, but the cosmetic-love site has a membership and allows you to accumulate points, and even become a retailer (to the best of my understanding.
xoxox

Bayewulf
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09561949969019823472noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2480501883787448441.post-48193254774455293682012-11-24T00:26:00.001-08:002012-11-24T13:38:42.094-08:00Introduction to Bra Sizing and Marks and Spencer Limited Collection Pushup Plunge (T81-098448282P) ReviewHi guys! You might be wondering why I'm going to be posting pictures of me in my underwear here! Well, I wanted to inform you all about accurate bra sizing.

In this picture, you can see I'm not really packing much in the chest department. I'm not wearing a bra of any sort, by the way. You would probably guess that I'm an A-cup if you already know how to properly fit bras, but I actually measure at 24F.

Yes, duckface. It's supposed to be a ridiculous picture

With my measurements of 24 ribcage and 31 bust, I get the size 24F. Wait, what? 24F? Do they even make this size? Yes and no. The size exists, but currently only Ewa Michalak (a bra manufacturer) makes this size, and even then it's a custom size.

Bra sizes are normally made in 28 bands and onwards, in 2-inch increments. Cup sizes are determined by how many inches the cup size differs from the band size, in simpler words, cup size is relative to band size.. In my case, 31-24=7. According to the chart below, a 7 inch difference is an F cup.

Sizing isn't about how big your boobs look to you or others. It's about how the bra fits on you! Different manufacturers size bras slightly differently. Even bras by the same manufacturer may vary in size depending on the model. So you might be wondering, how can I find out if a bra fits? Busty Resources can point you in the right direction with a guide on how to measure yourself to find a starting point to finding your perfect size.

ON TO THE REVIEW!

Since the 24F I should be wearing is kind of expensive if I custom order it (currently the only way to get it), I ordered a couple Limited Collection Marks and Spencer bras in 28DD. 28DD is the sister size of 24F, meaning if I go up in band sizes but want to keep the cup volume, I add two to the band size and go down a letter (or double letter, as in the case of Ds, Fs, Gs etc).

As you can see, a 28DD is nowhere near humongous. This is a push-up bra, too. I will restate this: cup size is relative to band size.

My thoughts on this bra:

The straps are waaay too wide set for me. I don't feel very comfortable with the strap placement. The band is snug, and does not ride up when hooked on the first one (Ladies, that is how you can tell if the band fits!). I don't experience any quadboobing, nor gapping (how you can tell the cup fits). It's a pretty good bra, and I can only imagine that the bra would fit much much better on someone with a 28 inch rib cage measurement.

I would buy maybe another of these bras, I feel like I look fantastic in it :3

More reviews to come!
I bought a crystal nail fileI went to Oktoberfest with my family! My husband also bought me a cute crystal nail file for $6 at a nail art stall there. It files like nothing else I've ever tried. At first I was like, "Woah? Where the hell is the grit? How is this going to file my nails?"

Then I tried filing. Magic ensued. The edges of my nails filed down evenly and without splitting. The tips were very smooth, not the usual ragged ones I got with my metal file. I barely had to apply pressure at all! The best part about this is it supposedly will never wear out, since it's glass. The bad part is I like bringing my nail files with me, and it doesn't come with a case :( I stuck it in my camera's pocket instead, and surrounded it some business cards.

Sorry my post isn't as long or informative as it usually is (kinda xD).

Toodles!

My first ever eBay purchase, Etude House BB Magic Cream, arrived in the mail about a couple of days ago, and I was so excited to use it! But I thought, "what the heck, I'll use it tomorrow morning for when I go to school". Now, I have a class really early in the morning, so I planned on waking up an hour and a half before I had to leave so I would have time to do this review, but my cellphone alarm had other plans. It didn't go off at all! I wound up waking 15 minutes before I had to leave for school, so I did my makeup in a moving car. Tell me how you think I did (pics at the end)!
But anyway, on to the review! This BB cream had no special properties aside from being moisturizing. No SPF, no skin whitening at all. It has a slight, pleasant fragrance to it, and is more liquid than I expected it to be (I had tried my sister's Skinfood BB before, and it had felt pasty to me). It was a bit of a challenge getting the pump started, but I got it going after turning it upside down and slightly squeezing it to get the air out.
This is my face when I started out, with sunblock prior to BB cream application. I dare not leave the house without sunblock, especially since I've been using papaya soap. I know I look terrible, but that's what happens when you leave the house in a rush! I kinda freak myself out with how horrible I look before I comb my hair in the mornings. As with most, if not all, BB creams it had a whitish cast
immediately upon application. I'm not a very fair-skinned person, so the
problem of BB creams having a ghastly color was greatly aggravated by
my skin tone. It did even out my skin, but you couldn't really tell
until it had oxidized about 20-30 minutes later.
This product is perfect for anybody who likes medium
coverage, and is fair skinned. It's also moisturizing, so it helps dry
skin as well. I like this product well enough, but I don't like the fact that it doesn't have SPF, and that there's only 35ml, when I can get 50ml (Etude House Bright Fit BB Cream) for about $5 more. It does last a long time, since a little goes a long way. My real problem however is that it doesn't really match my skin tone, and the Bright Fit line has darker shades as well as SPF. So no, I won't be repurchasing it, and I'll be getting Bright Fit next time.
Both face pics (other one is in above link) were taken in natural lighting at about the same time of day 2 weeks apart. All scar pics were taken with flash.
Both scars are significantly lighter, and my face had mostly evened out. I had to use moisturizer often though, since both the fade cream and the papaya soap contained AHA, which is very drying. As maintenance, I also had to use a lot of sunblock to prevent redarkening. I will keep using both products until November. Hopefully, I will have reached my desired result by then. Possible updates by the end of October! :)
Ciao,
I've been meaning to buy new liquid liner (since my old brush was tatty and drew lines poorly), and this was the cheapest one they had. It cost USD 15, which was less than K-Palette and Dolly Wink.
It boasts a flattened tip which draws thicker lines, hence the name "extra heavy eyeliner". Thin lines are also possible with this tip, making it a versatile brush. A helpful guide is on the packaging on how to achieve these lines.
The product dries almost upon contact with skin, as with most Japanese eyeliners, making a sure hand necessary if you use it. There's no room for mistakes with this kind of liner, since it leaves a blue-grey stain if you try to smudge it off. It's not very pigmented however, and about 2-3 strokes are needed for a solid black line. Here's a little tip though, if you have hooded eyelids or a monolid, don't open your eyes right after application, since it takes a bit of time for it to be completely dry. I ended up with the eyeliner transferring onto my skin from my lashline when I opened my eyes too soon!
This eyeliner is not by any means waterproof, however, it is quite long lasting and does not easily smudge or flake off if applied on clean, dry skin. When I used it, it stayed on all day. It sort of reminds me of India ink, as opposed to eyeliners such as e.l.f. which is more like a black film.

I've read a few reviews about this eyeliner, and the general sentiment is that it is too difficult to remove. While it does leave a slight dark tint on the skin, I only washed my face twice to get rid of it. On other reviews, it has been said fancy makeup removers cannot remove it easily. I don't know if it is my skin type or if I'm very lucky, since it was no more difficult to wash off than most makeup for me.
Overall, I really like this eyeliner, except for the fact that you need to layer it on to get a solid black. I would most likely repurchase this item when I run out of it.
More product reviews to come in the near future!
I decided my skin wasn't looking as even as it could, and decided to use the tube of Ambi Fade Cream on my scars and areas I deemed darker than the rest of my face. It's been two weeks since I've been using the cream regularly on my forehead and nose. Sadly, I don't have a before picture, but here's one after two weeks. Sorry about the gross hair, I haven't been taking good care of it for a while >,< staying at home makes me lazy :(

I've always had a problem with my cheeks being lighter than the rest of my face, especially since buying foundation gets a little tricky. I don't want a thick foundation which feels cakey, and I want only enough coverage to even out my skin tone. Unfortunately, my skin tone varies across my face as the foundation wears off during the course of the day, I end up looking really weird since my nose is dark.

I also put the fade cream on my scars on my arms and legs, and these are a couple of the darker ones.

The blue is a washed out Huckleberry Blue by Beyond The Zone Color Jamz, and I cut the back and sides myself with a razor comb. I tend not to trust other people with cutting my hair, they rarely ever get it right. Also, haircuts are frigging expensive.

I've never really been taught how to french braid, and not even watching the videos on Youtube is helping me :P
I guess we'll see if I improve after a while.
Needless to say, my Asian hair is very resistant and despite two 30vol bleachings, it is still yellow. But at least the orangey ginger color it had last week is finally GONE.

Freshly bleached! And with a test spot of violet in there :))

I'll probably need another round of bleach before I get pale blond, as there's still too much yellow in my hair. I sure am glad I bought an extra packet of bleach powder! :D
xoxo
DolceAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09561949969019823472noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2480501883787448441.post-73485330395628342272011-07-06T21:53:00.000-07:002012-08-28T21:01:03.394-07:00BLONDE!So my parents about killed me for bleaching my hair, and my dad told me to do it when I was "independent".

Excuse me? Who would hire me if my hair was purple? There's a reason kids do this while they're in college and shit like that!

Another thing my dad told me before was I could do it when I was no longer studying in Angelicum. I bleached my hair right after I graduated. Of course, he got mad and said I should do it in the USA, because I'd draw the attention of the squatters and they would probably bully/murder me being the ruthless, mindless mobs most of them are.

Now that I'm in the USA, he says I should do it when I'm independent. WHEN I'M INDEPENDENT? He may very well have told me to do it when I was a grandmother with graying hair and wrinkly skin. Because I'll never be free to do what I want with my appearance if I wanted a job that payed decent money and didn't require me to be Lady GaGa. And when I AM a grandmother, it wouldn't even look good on me at all!

What's worse, whenever we see women and occasionally men with cool looking blonde or pink or blue hair, my dad would go "Oh look! Her hair's pretty!"

So it's okay on any other girl as long as it's not me? AWESOME. Sometimes, I just don't get my parents.

Anyway, I don't think it looks BAD on me. Although I could use another round of bleaching and a little toner, then my hair will be good to go.
D: I think it's because I made fun of Davey Jones... Good thing there were some life guards around with their gasoline smelling jetski.

Anyway, I wrote this to tell you guys that aside from the fact that my charges (I was sorta watching kids) effed me up because they didn't want to "drown" (seriously, I don't think they could drown in water that went up to their navels no matter how dumb they were) and the little boy punching me in the boob and inflicting multiple scratches to me with his nails from clinging on to me and them both getting sand in my eyes, they even pulled me back into the water because they weren't done playing with me (it's not like they couldn't go "swimming" without me). Because the waves were so damn insane, it was swishing kelp all over the place. And because the kids wouldn't let me go or go back to shower so we could go home already, some a-hole piece of kelp sliced at my leg making it sting like a mutha; I could barely even walk. At least that finally convinced the kids to finally go take a shower which was awesome since I've had it with the ocean for the rest of July.

And now I wake up and this is the glorious rash that I find on my leg! Awesome! I knew this kind of stuff would happen, because this kinda effed up stuff happens to me ALL the time.

Can you see that shit? I tell you, it's far worse in person.

And here's a comparison between my normal leg and my effed up leg.

Do you see how bad that is? And let me tell you, it both itches and stings at the same time.

Later in the afternoon I decided to take another picture of it after putting some steroidal ointment on it... It had flattened but reddened.
To tell the truth, that's the only Nicki Minaj song I know. :|
After a few more shots, I decided to give the goddamn puffy eye look a go. If it worked for Promise Tamang Phan, why shouldn't it work for me?

Unfortunately, I think I looked like a heroin addict instead of a puffy eyed glamor girl.
I got bored and decided to FINALLY use my white wig that my mom's friends had ruined, since they wore it and decided to do some fancy haireography with it.

What n!gg@ told you you could touch my shit bitch? That's my wig. Only reason I didn't send a fork flying your way is because you're my mother's friends.
Anyway, here are some photos. Enjoy.
Yehey! I look to competitions to validate my existence! Lol jk. But really. I am so glad I won! I'll have the chance to own my very own Lime Crime Magic Dust! I've dreamt about this for years! Well, ever since Lime Crime Makeup came about anyway. But I never dreamed I'd even be doing such outrageous makeup looks in the first place, and without Doe Deere and Lime Crime, I would have probably never dared to step out of the typical scene/emo/goth makeup look. I wouldn't have actually dared to paint my face as if I was going out on a stage. And why not? Isn't the world a stage? Anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH LIME CRIME.
Or at least I was. I ate it up now. And I have no idea where I'm going to get more. I just had my friend Jean Aguilar bring this home from the Philippines for me, for which I am grateful. According to what i've read here on the interwebz, I can probably get more at a Hawaiian or Asian grocery. No Hawaiian groceries here, and certainly none in the Asian groceries I've been to. I am very SAD.
Here is my kiamoy before I ate it all up (not in one go, mind you):

The price of kiamoy seems to have gone up quite a bit! It used to cost just around Php 30! (around less than US$1)

I shall wait for the next time I will be able to eat this sweet, sweet treat (not literally sweet though LOL). Goodbye, my sweet nomnom.

Note: I do have two tupperwares full of the stuff, but that's regulated by my parents. I'd rather not eat it. :(Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09561949969019823472noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2480501883787448441.post-43440789026288806072011-04-29T13:26:00.000-07:002011-04-29T13:26:22.081-07:00Hello BloggerSo I'm going to try out Blogger. Hopefully, I enjoy it here. I don't want to have to download programs, as with Wordpress, and Xanga doesn't let people from other blogs leave comments.

This is a test post, as well as being my first!

I'm putting this here just because I like testing out random features. LOL

So since everything seems to be working fine, I WILL link this thing back to my xanga and vice versa. I'm not too keen on completely giving up my xanga, which has been nice to me for the most part.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09561949969019823472noreply@blogger.com0
